Amazing what a different a day makes. Now I’m wound up, tense and stressed. I wanted to nearly throttle someone at work, whose passive-aggressive behavior has been thwarting and delaying a project I should have had completed days ago. I’ve had a new car for all of four hours and have already received my first summons (TITLE 39:4-94.2B, driving on a closed road. Any idea if this is a point violation?).

Some days, I shouldn’t bother waking up.

hi i have a question and would appreciate an answer back. i just recieved that same traffic summons and was wondering if it is actually a points ticket?? Did you have to go to court?
Thanks! ~ Sylvia

Well, this is way late, but I do have the answer. No, it is not a points violation, but yes, I did have to go to court.

hey watsup..i saw that you have the same exact violation as mines. I see you wrote that is it NOT a points violation? how come you still had to go to court? Im going to court to plead not guilty. (since i am not guilty lol)

It’s been about three years but there are two parts to it – first, the summons has a checkbox that the officer can check to indicate that a court appearance is required. In addition, some violations automatically require a court appearance, generally because the exact amount of the fine is unknown. I believe that was the case with this particular violation. The “routine” speeding violations have a set amount for fines, but that’s not the case here.

It was great having to spend the additional $30+ on the court costs.
