What to Expect

So after about an hour of playing around with this system, I’m impressed by the functionality that’s been made available.  Certainly there are a lot more options than my old home-grown rinky dink setup offered.  With that in mind, though, I’m left with three major pieces of work.

1.  Get all my old content imported in to the system.  Easier said than done, since it’s not exactly in the right format.  Somehow, over the next week or two, that is site priority number one.

2.  Get off these horrible default style templates.  They may work as a short-term alternative, but they are NOT pretty.  Not that I’m a web design genius, but something a little more personal goes a long way.

3.  Start blogging again. 🙂

The Migration is On

Here I am, now on Moveable Type with all the associated fun and joy of trying to adjust to a new system.  I finally figured that, having shown I could build a basic blog system, it was solely hubris that was keeping me from switching to a standard blogging platform.  So I took the plunge and set this up as part of a change to my hosting platform.  Hopefully I’ll get this whole thing settled down in the next few days and then I can focus on writing instead of configuration settings.

Server Migration

Long time no write. I’m just dropping in to leave a brief message that sometime over the next week I’ll be moving servers around. As a result, the site might be offline from time to time while I get the new config set up.
